Hi guys,

I need help, I want to backup my emails so I use thunderbird for it. The problem is how to migrate or open these folders to my PC again.

My method is this, I add my emails on thunderbird then after it downloads all data I cut the folder from the screenshot below and save it on my external drive for backup so that I can save up space on my PC, then I want to recover email from the cut folders but I don't know how

Please help me

Chosen solution

Inside each folder, e.g. mail.onebueinc.com, are files with no extension that contain the mail, such as Inbox, Sent etc. To read these mbox files in TB, import them to Local Folders with the ImportExportTools add-on.

You might want to consider MailStore for backing up and archiving mail.

Hi sfhowes,

This made my day, thanks for this info. So these files with no extension are mbox files too.

Appreciate the help dude!
