I deleted my "Recently Bookmarked" accidently how do I get it back?

I have a desktop with win7 pro and use ff 48. Recently I refreshed ff and had trouble reinstating the json file for bookmarks that I had on a thumbdrive. That was done eventually but now I see that my "recently bookmarked" function is gone, is there a way of reinstating it?

Chosen solution

in this case you could also try to create the smart bookmarks folder manually. go to the bookmarks library and create a new bookmark, give it a name of your choosing and the following address:

place:folder=BOOKMARKS_MENU&folder=UNFILED_BOOKMARKS&folder=TOOLBAR&queryType=1&sort=12&excludeItemIfParentHasAnnotation=livemark%2FfeedURI&maxResults=10&excludeQueries=1

afterwards restart the browser.

you could also edit some of its parameters as it is described at http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?p=3260477

hi strawboss59, please try the following: enter about:config into the firefox address bar (confirm the info message in case it shows up) & search for the preference named browser.places.smartBookmarksVersion - right-click and reset that entry to the default value and restart firefox afterwards for it to take effect.

Hi philipp, I had tried this before and when I did I changed the value from 8 to 0. This time I tried it your way and had the same result, the value reverts to 8, without the function returning. When I right clicked and reset the value area showed blank, no zero or numeral at all.

Have you restarted at the end of that procedure as well?

Yes, I did it using the 3bar menu and the red x on different occasions, I also restarted my computer in case I mis-understood what the archived solution meant.
