The usage of memory keeps rising even though I'm not opening more Tabs.

I need to see a page showing, in rank order, the memory committed to each Tab. Also how that amount varies.

It would be useful to have a function where I can close a tab to release the memory, but keep the URL on a "sideboard" so I can open it easily -- I don't want to put it into bookmarks, nor have to search thru bookmarks (I would have to remember the site's name to do that).

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions ("3-bar" menu button/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.

  • Switch to the DEFAULT theme: "3-bar" menu button/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance
  • Do NOT click the "Refresh Firefox" button on the Safe Mode start window
