I closed FF, and re-opened it again right away. So after 5 seconds or so I killed the FF process (there was in fact the message that I cannot do it, but the process gone away anyway). Then after FF started I got the message from my firewall that Firefox has changed. I have no idea if it was "silent" update, or something more malicious> So how can I check when firefox updated itself the last time?

Hello,

You can check your Firefox version in:

  • Help (or New Fx Menu > Help-29) > About Firefox

There was an update recently (version 33.0.2), so that could be what likely triggered that message. If you are worried that something malicious occurred, it is always safer to run a scan.

You can try these free programs to scan for malware, which work with your existing antivirus software:

EDIT: Sorry forgot to add, you can check your update history by going to your about:support page, also accessible by:

  • Help (or New Fx Menu > Help-29) > Troubleshooting Information

Click "Show Update History" to see your updates. This page also shows your current version and other information as well.
