I currently have Java 7 Update 71 installed which FF seems to think is the most current version. When I check the Java site it says Java 8 U25 is the most current version. Which is it? Thanks

Hello arejfour, the Java 7 versions was the default java for all new installations from 31 May 2012 until 14 Oct. 2014.

All Java 7 versions users will be auto-updated to Java 8 in 2015 (i think 20 February 2015)

The Java 8 versions became the default java for all new installations on Windows on 14 Oct. 2014 until....we don't known yet... :-)

you can update to Java 8 if you want, but you are already updated and with your latest 7 Update 71.

thank you
