I have downloaded and installed various themes, when i am prompted to close and re-start firefox i do so, and the selected theme appears on re-start. however if i then close firefox of my own accord and then re-start, the theme disappears and is reverted back to "Default 16.0.2". Even if i go to the Add-ons Manager and select Appearance, the Default 16.0.2 theme is disabled and my required theme is enabled, but the default 16.0.2 is the only theme which works.

Goto Tools - > Addons - > Apperance -> choose the theme which you want and make it deafult.

Ive dont see anything to make the theme default, i only have the option to enable or remove, i have enabled the theme i want and other 100's of times and yes it works, but when i close firefox it always opens as the default 16.0.2.

How do you set the theme as default

i,l let you know

That has now worked, ive re-set firefox and downloaded the theme again and it works. the only thing is when i re-open firefox it goes to my last tabs and not the home page.

thanks for the help

any ideas on the home page?

Go to Preference -> General ->When firefox Starts (show my home page) instead of choosing show my windows and tabs from last time

Check out this image

Hi, ive done this; but it still opens all the previous tabs.

Are there any other setting i need to be aware of which may be causing this?

It is possible that Firefox isn't closing properly

See:

Use "Firefox/File > Exit" (Mac: "Firefox > Quit"; Linux: "File > Quit") to close Firefox if you are currently doing that by clicking the close X on the title bar.

I have followed the link you have posted but ive got to be honest i have no idea what you mean, i'm not a tech like person. Every time i open firefox the previous tabs open automatically, especially if i download an add on like "smooth wheel". The tabs just keep opening up.

How can i sort this out?

Did you check the Home page setting and startup setting?

You can try to reset Firefox if you can't make it work properly in your current Firefox Profile Folder.

If you reset Firefox then a new profile is created and some of your data (bookmarks, passwords, cookies, form data) is automatically imported and your current profile will be moved to the desktop (Old Firefox Data).

You can recover more data from the old profile (be cautious with doing that).

Hi

When fire fox starts i have it set in the when firefox starts bar to "home page" and in the home page bar i have "mozilla firefox start page"

Ive also reset firefox several times but the tabs just keep opening. for example if i close firefox right now on this page, when i open firefox back up, this tab and any other i have open will re-open. Even if i close all tabs; whatever i had open last re-opens

Driving me nuts....keeps me out the pub though
