When I start to type I get a pop up window: You have chosen to open search..which a: application/json...from:https://www.google.com What should Firefox do with this file?...Open with...Save File... I then hit Cancel and sometimes the problem resolves itself or the box opens again or even multiple times on top of each other. This problem seems to occur far more often than not. What's going on here and what is the solution?

Your solution appeared to be successful at first, but unfortunately did not last and I'm back to square one. I've uploaded the dialogue box just to make sure we're on the same page. Any other suggestions? Thanks.

Which extensions do you have installed?

Did you try safe-mode with all extensions disabled because extensions can cause this issue?

Hi, I've been having this annoying problem as well, but have just found the solution. first go to google.com. In the top right corner click on the settings wheel and choose search settings, Go to google instant predictions and choose never show instant results. go down the page and save the settings. hope this works,

Regards Tad
