Can not leave a website when I click the back button, it just keeps returning to the same site, have to shut down Firefox and start my search over. The web site below is just one example, there a few more. Is this a problem with Firefox or that particular website? Thank you for your help.

Thank you very much for trying to help me. I think you have pointed me in the right direction, I tried it on IE (yuk!) and it worked there. It has been awhile since this HDD has been in service and I think it is time to do a clean reinstall of everything. Once again, thank you. fredsbroke2

Hi fredsbroke2-

It is difficult to know the answer to your question as I am unable to reproduce the problem I can use Firefox and go to the attached website, and use the back button successfully. If this happens regularly, and does not happen in other browsers, then I would suggest uninstalling and updating to the most recent version of Firefox.

Use one of these methods to open the tab history list to see if that allows you to go back further:

  • Right click on the Back or Forward button
  • Hold down the left mouse button on the enabled Back or Forward button until the list opens
