Firefoxs continually stops responding. It stops at least every 10 minutes and then starts again in a minute or two.

Don't know if you're on a Mac or Windows computer. If Mac, run Activity Monitor and watch the "Real Memory" usage of Firefox — my guess is that you will find FF hogging tons of RAM. I started Firefox in Safe Mode (holding down the Option key while running FF) so that no extensions or plug-ins were loaded. Even so, FF started up as the #1 hog of RAM in my system and as I used it, it got worse and then started hanging.

Sorry, just saw you're on Windows. Surely there is something similar to Mac's Activity Monitor that lets you see the system resources that a program is using.

Thanks for the response, I have run a computer diagnosis and it had me update my flash. Not sure if it works. I will keep your suggestion for further use.

Thank you

While reading this page, my browser froze again. I did an 'end process tree' from the windows task manager, and restarted the browser faster than waiting would have taken.

This is intolerable. I really hope it gets fixed before I learn to do everything on Chrome instead. I like having a useful alternative.

I am having this same issue. I can be using for qute a while and then when i come back to it from another program and click on the browser window nothing happens. As i click on the open tabs, I can see the title on the top of the page changing but the tabs never switch. i cant click in the Search are nor can I click in the URL area. Then after about 30-40 seconds it all comes back. Very very annoying. May have to move to Chrome although I really dont want to. Argh!

Please fix this boys.

I actually changed to chrome. It's different but it is fast and works. All my favorites imported. What can I do. There is no support from Firefox so I moved on and am back to getting things done in a timely manner

The Firefox support website contribution is based on volunteers. The current amount of volunteers allow only to answer half of the 400 questions asked each day. Other volunteers are trying to improve KB support articles including Firefox hangs or is not responding - How to fix (see the history).
