The latest Firefox keeps leaving the web-page I'm on and going to a YAHOO! search page, usually with results for the page it's just left, and a message saying that the page can't be found. This seems to be a bug. How long til this is corrected?
This actually happens several times a session, I backtrack to the page I want and sometimes it stays, sometimes it goes right back to the YAHOO! searchpage. Sometimes when I click a link to go to a page it will display the page and then instantly go to the YAHOO! searchpage, sometimes I can being looking at my desired page for a minute or two, and then suddenly it just goes to YAHOO!. This never happened with Firefox 3.x.

To revert to Google as your preferred search engine, please do the following.
- In the location bar, type about:config and hit Enter.
- In the filter at the top, type: keyword.URL
- Double click it and remove whatever's in there (probably Yahoo) and replace it with http://www.google.com/search?q=
The URL to add in "keyword.URL" becomes a link in this post, so right click it and choose "Copy Link Location" to copy it to the Windows clipboard. Then hit CTRL+V to paste it. Saves you having to type the whole thing.
To reset your home page, do the following.
- Go to the site you want to set as your homepage.
- Click the orange Firefox button and go to Options | Options | General.
- Make sure it says "Show My Homepage" in the first dropdown menu.
- Click the button called "Use Current Pages" to set the homepage to the one you have on the screen.
I'm sorry, but you obviously did not understand my problem. I do NOT wish to leave the page I am viewing to go to ANY search page. The problem is that I am LOOKING at a web-page (Amazon, E-bay, The Internet Movie Database, etc.) and suddenly Firefox goes to a YAHOO searchpage without reason. I then have to hit the BACK button to return to what I was doing. I hope this clarifies. THX anyway, CKB.
Try running Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode. If it functions properly in that configuration, then one of your add-ons is the culprit.
I will try running in Safe Mode. Thanks. And or the record, I found a message on YAHOO that someone else is experiencing the same problem. Here is the URL:

Update Java please to eliminate that as the culprit. Download from http://www.java.com/en/
EDIT: Do you have NoScript installed? There's a discussion on Amazon's forums concerning the problem @ d3l3l kinz 3f 56t cloud front pixel
