My firefox keeps updating every day, even though I've disabled all updates in tools/options/advanced/update.

When it updates it changes all my privacy settings { history, cookies, etc}. It also changes my default home page setting. It also checks all update boxes in the tools/options/advanced/update, even though I had them previously unchecked. Note: Once I change everything back the way I want it, it is ok all day - until the next day when I turn on the PC. HELP! Note: in the tools/options/advanced/update/show update history, it says "no updates installed yet". I am running firefox 3.6.9 in windows XP pro.

I have this issue as well. What I did was when I clicked on Firefox, the update shows up. I looked at the details of where this update it was coming from, will be in the form of a circle button. So I followed the source, till I got to where the update folder would be in effect. Then, I deleted that particular file and other things that would trigger the update.

When that was taken care of, I checked back on Firefox and did not have that update popup showing up again.

I hope this helps for those that are having to deal with this problem.
