When sending an email, I get duplicate copies in my sent folder.
I am very new to Thunderbird email program just started using it on August 15, 2022. My question is when I sent a message, I get a duplicate message in my sent folder. How can I prevent this from happening. I assume there a setting somewhere that I need to adjust.
Any help would be appreciated. So far so good with Thunderbird.
Joe

OK, now I'm onboard. Go to tools>accountsettings>copies&folders and UNtick the box to save Sent messages.

Outlook stores a copy in sent folder by default. Untick your setting to store message in sent folder and I believe you will see just one copy stored.
Dave, thank you for your reply. I don't have trouble with Microsoft outlook. I have trouble with Thunderbird given me duplicate emails when I was able to connect to Microsoft outlook. I did just what you said and took care of the problem of duplication in Microsoft outlook. What I need to know how to do the same problem with Thunderbird email program which is given me duplicate sent messages.

I'm confused. You used my suggestion in Microsoft Outlook? Why, since this is a Thunderbird forum. The steps I gave were to fix the problem in Thunderbird. What am I missing? Thanks.
Dave, I did not use your suggestion on Outlook. I knew that I took care that long ago. Forget about Microsoft Outlook expressI should have left that out of the question.
I need to know what Box to tick On Thunderbirds email program so I will stop having duplicate emails in my sent folder. If you can help me with that great.
I don't need no help with Microsoft Outlook express.
Thank you,
