Still can't delete duplicate bookmarks

I followed cor_el's advice and created a new profile. This helped me for a while (i.e., I could delete bookmarks duplicates), but it stopped working. I tried creating another new profile, but it didn't help at all. Since a new profile doesn't seem to help me (i,e., I still can't delete duplicate bookmarks without all copies disappearing), does anyone have any other suggestions?

Thanks.

hello croger,

what you might try is "exporting" your bookmark library to an html file and save it to disk.

and if you have passwords and logins, to export those too.

then uninstall your firefox, reboot and reinstall it.

afterwards, you can import that html file back into FireFox.

the above is just "a maybe" towards helping you with this funny issue.

there is also a way to backup the entire folder for firefox before installing a clean version.

so in the event the new install doesnt work out and also have lost information in the process, you can restore the folder that you backed up.

Are you using Sync to sync the bookmarks to a mobile device as that is the most probable cause for such bookmark issues ?

cor_el, my sync is turned off, but I still have the problem. I'm going to try ~dbben's suggestion of deleting Firefox, rebooting and reinstalling Firefox, and see if that helps.
