Using Firefox browser on my Kindle is apparently not possible. Why?

Amazon's app store says the Firefox browser for Kindle is currently unavailable. It's been saying this for quite some time. On Mozilla.com I can find no mention of how, or if it's even possible, to do it. Why is this?

You may be able to side load the Firefox .apk files to it. However not sure if you will get updates this way. https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/android/all/

Mozilla wanted to put the Android Firefox on the Amazon appstore as Mozilla did have Android Firefox 9.0 up there briefly (in end of Dec 2011?). However it was found that Amazon modified and resigned the apk which caused update problems so Mozilla pulled it shortly after. Mozilla has contacted Amazon many times about modifying this policy, so far Amazon has been unwilling with no progress on this since.

Hi James~ Went to the Mozilla link you provided and, after allowing installation of apps from unknown sources, clicked on each of the two download buttons. After each one I went through Amazon's dire warnings, downloaded it and installed it. All I got was the message "App not installed". I went through this whole routine for each of the install buttons twice. Why do you suppose that Amazon is soo protective of their lame Silk browser?!?!? Maybe it's because of all the permissions Silk has?
