Is there an easy way to block specific cookies (like I used to do in Chrome)?
When working with Google Chrome (which I used until a months back, before I gave FireFox a shot) I used the cookies exceptions option to block all cookies of specific domains. Whenever I was on any arbitrary page, I simply clicked on page info, selected an unwanted cookie and clicked "block". In FireFox, I only see the "delete" option for cookies but no easy way to block them?
As an inconvenient option, I would consider adding unwanted domains to the cookies exceptions. However, with FireFox, I have to specify the exact domain; back with Chrome I had the option to use wildcards which were extremely necessary to stop things like a4621041136.cdn.optimizely.com (simply add *.optimizely.com to the exceptions). Also, I don't want to specify http://* and https://* for each and every domain if in know that I don't want to accept ANYthing from that specific domain.
I would also consider writing a small extension that reads all cookies of a specific page and give me the option to block things BUT I understand that I don't have access to the blocked cookies list from within anyy extension; I can only delete cookies once they're set.
What is the suggested way to achieve my goal here (block all cookies of certain domains ... like *.optimizely.com). You can assume that I have programming skills and could write an extension (if that's the only / best way).
Thanks

You would need to know the rules of the road , below does not even scratch the surface :

No there is no easy way like you wish with wild cards. Would be nice.

Is there a feature request for blocking cookies with wildcards already? If not, does it make sense to file such a request or is that too specific and will not be implemented anytime soon?
There is a bug report from 11yrs ago discussing using wild cards. I would think that it is not going any where as did the Netscape one from 13yrs ago. I have googled and come up with nothing.
Haha thanks for your effort! :D Damn that's a shame; I really like the rest of Firefox (after using Chrome for ~10 yrs straight). I might have to join the force then and add this feature myself one day :D Thanks a lot for everything, @Pkshadow
