When using Firefox some of the web pages I open are black, why?
It started happening a few months ago after the last updates, and no fixes that I know of (delete and reinstall Firefox/ get rid of all extensions etc.) have worked. Here's the deal, all list boxes on any website I go to from Firefox and only Firefox are black unless my mouse pointer is over the text (see attached screen capture). Also some web pages I open are mostly black save a couple embedded videos etc., except some text and other clickable items become visible when the mouse pointer scrolls over them (attached screen capture of web page in Firefox with issue and screen capture of same web page in Chrome no issue).

See if there are updates for your graphics drivers https://support.mozilla.org/kb/upgrade-graphics-drivers-use-hardware-acceleration
Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web Link} by holding down the <Shift>
(Mac=Options) key, and then starting Firefox.
A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Safe Mode (not Refresh).
Is the problem still there?

I don't see how if it was a GPU driver problem, why it would have an issue in Firefox and not Chrome? Either way though it sounded like a good suggestion, so I deleted and reinstalled GPU driver and still have the same issue.
And Firefox Safe Mode?
Sorry didn't respond about safe mode because I was trouble shooting the Firefox issue after safe mode was devoid of issues. Seems even though I disable an extension it was still playing havoc, and after a deletion I seem to be error free. Thank you FredMcD, your suggestions led directly to the solution.
Glad to help. Safe Surfing.
BTW, who was causing the problem? In case others have this issue.
Ad Blocker, after a little Googleing (if that can be considered an word lol) I read Ad Blocker stopped supporting Firefox some time last year. Don't know why it took so long to start playing havoc, but at least I know now.
Thank you.
