I've been using Firefox for years for saving some user name/passwords and have no had any problems until today. I'm trying to manage a Cisco video codec and as I go through some of the settings pages there are options for user/pass for other sections and Firefox is automatically entering the saved info to initially log into the codec/browser. This is already getting somewhat annoying as I switch between areas it auto populates these changes and then I try to move to the next area and I get warnings about pending changes not saved. It should be auto filling only the initial log in page, not every subsection.

Type about:preferences#security<enter> in the address bar.

Under Logins, Turn on Remember Logins To check the passwords you have listed, press Saved Logins.

Make sure there is only one entry for the site. If there is more than one, remove all of them.

I did that. Removed all entries. Signed out, signed in. Offered to remember, I selected yes. Pages still auto populated. I checked Saved Logins and only had the 1 entry. For now I just opted to not remember it and it is no longer autofilling all over.

This is above my level but I think that; Each field that you fill out on any web page has a name. The Password Manager looks for fields with names like name, user, password . . . . . . and fills in that information. Can you post a public link to one of those pages?

Unfortunately not. This is a video conference device on our network but is configured via browser. The log in page is worded Username: and Password. But the other pages that triggers is Identity: and Password. There is even another field w/ a drop down between identity and password. 2 other pages are worded LoginName: and Password:. Those appear to be the only triggers.

Ah Ha. Okay, in this case, you can not use the Firefox Password Manager. Open the manager and remove all data for that site. And tell the manager not to fill in anything on that site.

I suggest you use a form-filling add-on for this. The Password Manager is very limited as compared with a form filler.

Go to the Mozilla Add-ons Web Page {web link} (There’s a lot of good stuff here) and search for what you want.
