Automatic addons installation from command lind
Hi, Due to many system installation and changes I'm forced to setup Thunderbird. Is there a way to use command line to install addons. In Firefox I used downloaded addons as xpi which then I opened in Firefox. This work partially as I needed to click install button for each one. The same approach in Thunderbird failed. Copying xpi without name change to extensions folder also doesn't work. Only when I changed xpi to em:id from install.rdf TB noticed this addon and ask for installation during next startup.
Is this only solution? Do I have to extract em:id, rename xpi, copy it to extension and restart? Can I skip question for installation approval? Like always yes?

are you trying to do this in a corporate environment or something? It is the only reason I can see for wanting to install add-ons using a more complicated method than dropping the XPI file into the add-on manager with a mouse.
The MDN does not appear to include any add-on installation options since Geko 1.9. See https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Mozilla/Command_Line_Options
perhaps you could use javascript https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/API/InstallTrigger
