d3d11 and firefox 37
Hi,
since FF 37 introduced this new feature http://muizelaar.blogspot.it/2015/03/performance-and-feature-improvements-in.html
since on my OS I see http://postimg.org/image/b0eof0a43/ also my card supports d3d11,
why on FF Graphics I see only http://postimg.org/image/k0p8z5ppn/
? thanks.

Could you check whether you have any non-default preferences when checking the following:
(1) In a new tab, type or paste about:config in the address bar and press Enter. Click the button promising to be careful.
(2) In the search box above the list, type or paste webgl and pause while the list is filtered
If any preferences are bolded and "user set" those would be non-default values that you might try to right-click Reset, unless you recall changing them to troubleshoot a different problem.
(3) In the search box above the list, type or paste layers and pause while the list is filtered

Thanks for your reply. I see http://postimg.org/image/jtnw66fxn/ http://postimg.org/image/4mchzkdgr/
also no bolded keys. perhaps this feature is introduced for Seven, but I dont find the system requirements for d11 in firefox.

It's possible there are feature/capability differences between Vista and 7. Microsoft doesn't always update features on earlier versions of Windows that are not longer in their "mainstream" support period. I don't have enough information to know whether that is the issue.
(Vista mainstream support ended: 4/10/2012; Windows 7 mainstream support ended: 1/13/2015)
Vista support ends in april 2017. http://windows.microsoft.com/it-it/windows/lifecycle anyway... => Windows does not need to add the support d3d11, since the support has been already added: vista with https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Windows_Vista#Platform_Update
as witten here https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Direct3D#Direct3D_11 should be able to support. Only Mozilla is not exhaustive regarding this point: http://muizelaar.blogspot.it/2015/03/performance-and-feature-improvements-in.html written by a member of Bugzilla, which did not reply to my post in the blog (as you see Zero entries for this important feature ;)

Since you already know more about this than I do, I don't have anything further to add.
I warmly thank you.
Windows 8.1 enable tracker: bug 1079398 WIndows 7 https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1102499
I did not see any for Vista in the list of bugs that landed in version 37.
If you enable these in the about:config there might be some issues, but I have not tried either. The only other issue I noticed was testing for Nvidia drivers.
Thanks for the links. Its up to me to enable d3d11 via about:config (what the key name please?) or up Mozilla with a future FF upgrade?
Nividia replied to me too: "Yes, you are correct with Vista SP2 D3D11 support is activated, but this doesn't apply to all the programs."
Does "FF for Vista" belong to those programs "without support activated (yet?) "? http://postimg.org/image/k0p8z5ppn/
thanks.

If I remember correctly you already checked if the WebGL driver was correct. Just in case:
Looks like it is this way, and can be changed in about:config. However if they are not enabled by default it may mean that Firefox may not be compatible with this turned on. Try it out and if it does not work out, there might be more development in Nightly, Aurora versions of Firefox you can test too.
yes upgrading nvidia driver doest not resolve. i.e. switching to a higher build of drivers you still see d3d9 in FF Graphics.
webgl.disabled = false
