Hello,

I want to send my deleted emails to a different folder that is not 'trash'. My Gmail account allows me to keep old emails in the trash for max 30 days. In TB, there is the option "when i delete a message move it to this folder". If I choose a different folder, the deleted email will disappear. Using IMAP and Thunderbird 31.4.0. Cheers,

I found the solution! I found the solution! I will move by hand, each email by each email from the trash folder to a different folder. So exciting.

choose a different folder where? Local IMAP server?

And it is also removed from all mail? That is an unusual approach from the organization that does not want you to delete any mail ever

Let us repeat the question. When I click on deleting emails I would like to send the emails to not the trash folder but to another folder. It does not need to be local IMAP server. There is an option in TB and it is "when i delete a message move it to this folder". If I choose a random folder with this option and then I delete any email, I will not find the deleted email in that folder. Any help?
