I have Firefox 35.0 on my Asus transformer TF 701 tablet. Firefox is incredibly slow. It doesn't matter if I am using mobile sites, or requesting desktop by default. It just absolutely crawls when it's trying to load something. Both chrome and the native Asus browser are not having these issues. They are both lightening fast, but I really like FF don't want to switch. Can you recommend anything I can try to help speed Firefox up a little bit?

Thanks!

Hello,

I suggest downloading the add-on Ghostery ( https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/ghostery/?src=search ) to your Firefox. This can speed up browsing by:

  1. blocking ads
  2. blocking tracking cookies
  3. prevent trackers and analytics from loading, dramatically increasing browsing speed

I suggest in Ghostery's settings, to block all beacons (useless for webpages, just for tracking), block all ads, and block all analytics. And under cookies in Ghostery's settings, block the beacons cookies, analytics, and ad cookies. This will for sure increase browsing speed!

I also suggest following these about:config tweaks: http://digiwonk.wonderhowto.com/how-to/speed-up-firefox-using-about-config-menu-0140949/ follow steps 1-3. This should enable Firefox to make better use of an internet connection.

One more thing: you should try out an experimental Firefox cache feature that will be default in a future Firefox version. It will help a little too!

I hope this helps you!
