Can I use Thunderbird on a LAN if I use POP3 to get my mail?
I use POP3 to bring my mail in to a computer on my LAN. I have Thunderbird set up on that computer and all other computers on the LAN. I have worked out a way for all computers to access and act on mail that is on the computer that brings it in, but it is imperfect. Is there a proper way to do this?

If you run a mail sever on your network all is open as all mail is local and your can connect all machines to the imap account on the your mail server.
Otherwise you can use IMAP as it is and move mails from the imap folders to a local folder to archive then as that will remove them from the server.

I take it that you're saying that I should leave all of my new mail at the Net@ddress website, use IMAP to access it at the website while it's topical, and then periodically move it from the website to one of my computers. Am I right?

This is pretty much terra incognita, but I'm game. Will either hMailServer or Pegasus Mail do the job? If not, what might I use with Win XP SP3?
