I cannot see the URL of the website which I am visiting in my address bar
If I click on a link and open the new website in a New Tab, then in the address bar I cannot see the address (URL) of the website which I have been brought in. Sometimes you click on a link go to the new website and then you want to know the url of that site, currently this is not possible in firefox. However if you open the website in a New Window that would not happen! To me seems firefox just keep track of the url of the very first tab in a sequence of tabs in one window. This is quite annoying!

Hello,
Did you try start Firefox in Safe Mode:
And scan your PC?
This problem can be caused by a corrupted file try do a clean reinstall:
Certain Firefox problems can be solved by performing a Clean reinstall. This means you remove Firefox program files and then reinstall Firefox. Please follow these steps:
Note: You might want to print these steps or view them in another browser.
- Download the latest Desktop version of Firefox from http://www.mozilla.org and save the setup file to your computer.
- After the download finishes, close all Firefox windows (click Exit from the Firefox or File menu).
- Delete the Firefox installation folder, which is located in one of these locations, by default:
- Windows:
- C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox
- C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox
- Mac: Delete Firefox from the Applications folder.
- Linux: If you installed Firefox with the distro-based package manager, you should use the same way to uninstall it - see Install Firefox on Linux. If you downloaded and installed the binary package from the Firefox download page, simply remove the folder firefox in your home directory.
- Windows:
- Now, go ahead and reinstall Firefox:
- Double-click the downloaded installation file and go through the steps of the installation wizard.
- Once the wizard is finished, choose to directly open Firefox after clicking the Finish button.
More information about reinstalling Firefox can be found here.
WARNING: Do not run Firefox's uninstaller or use a third party remover as part of this process, because that could permanently delete your Firefox data, including but not limited to, extensions, cache, cookies, bookmarks, personal settings and saved passwords. These cannot be recovered unless they have been backed up to an external device!
Please report back to see if this helped you!
Thank you.
Does anything get selected and placed on the clipboard if you use Ctrl+L and Ctrl+A and Ctrl+C to select all the text in the location bar and copy it to the clipboard?
No, there is nothing there to copy it.
Resetting the firefox always help, but the problem is that after few days it goes back to the same issue. I have done it a few times. I have disabled all the add-ons and still nothing! I tried to check everything I do which might cause this but I couldn't figure it out. I am currently suspicious to my Free AVG anti-virus. I am doing some tests to see if it is AVG which is causing the issue. Yet to figure it out.
