hello don544, the keyword.url preference has been dropped in firefox 23 and above - you'd have to use an extension in order to restore it: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/keywordurl-hack/

Thanks but that add on does not work for me,guess I will have to go back to IE

In Firefox 23 versions and later the keyword.URL pref is no longer supported and it is no longer possible to specify the search engine for the location bar via the keyword.URL pref.

The search engine that is used on the location bar and on the about:home page is the search engine that is selected in the search Bar on the Navigation Toolbar.

You can install the Keyword Search extension to specify with search engine to use for the location bar and which search engine to use for the about:home page via the Options/Preferences windows of this extension, accessible via the about:addons page.

Sorry but it is not the search engine but the blocked results that I want to return to, I have no problem specifying the search engine I wish to use .However as is usual some developer decided to remove a feature I use a lot(as in -wackopedia) ,for what reason I can not begin to imagine. But since I still am able to automatically block results from wackopedia and puffington with Internet Explorer I will continue to use same.
