I'm using Firefox 19.0.After installing Google earth plugin i noticed that it also installed Google update plugin. So after uninstalling Google earth plugin i expected to uninstall the Google update plugin too. But this didn't happen, and there isn't any remove button.only enable /disable button. This is major security risk...unacceptable.

the plugin file named npGoogleUpdate3.dll is usually located in C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Google\Update\<versionnumber>. you can delete it manually to get it out of the list of installed plugins in firefox.

please direct your complaint about these pervasive tactics to google. as far as i remember the google updater is also silently registered as auto-start program and as scheduled task in the task planner once you install any google software...

That Google update plugin is a standard part of a Google program installation. Short of uninstalling Google Earth I don't know about only removing the update plugin.

You really should check with Google Earth support about their programs.

hello! users said that they were able to remove the plugin but it came back right after they update their Google Chrome. The only solution for these errors is to disable that plugin. in the article below, we provide more information about Current Version Plugin Google Update.
