When I go onto some websites, I can't interact with all of the sites. For instance, if I go to a site like IMDB, I can't use the search function. When I click on the dialog box and try to type in the box, it won't work. The same thing with Facebook. If I try to click on some of the links, nothing happens. I'm not talking about links that people post, I'm talking about the links that are part of Facebook. The ability to check messages, or do a search, or look at Facebook apps. I do not have this problem with internet Explorer or Google Chrome.

hello, can you replicate the problem when you launch Firefox in safe mode once?

Yes. I still have the problem when I try in safe mode. I don't know if this helps, but to give you a better idea of what happens, when I went to Facebook, I tried clicking on the "Log in" button nothing happens. It's like the button doesn't function. Also, I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling.

Reload web page(s) and bypass the cache to refresh possibly outdated or corrupted files.

  • Press and hold Shift and left-click the Reload button.
  • Press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)
  • Press "Command + Shift + R" (MAC)

Clear the cache and the cookies from sites that cause problems.

"Clear the Cache":

  • Firefox/Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"

"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:

  • Firefox/Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"

Did you do a clean reinstall and remove the Firefox program folder?

Did you try a new profile?

Do a clean reinstall and delete the Firefox program folder before (re)installing a fresh copy of the current Firefox release.

Download a fresh Firefox copy and save the file to the desktop.

Uninstall your current Firefox version, if possible, to cleanup the Windows registry and settings in security software.

  • Do NOT remove personal data when you uninstall your current Firefox version, because all profile folders will be removed and you will also lose your personal data like bookmarks and passwords from profiles of other Firefox versions.

Remove the Firefox program folder before installing that newly downloaded copy of the Firefox installer.

Your bookmarks and other profile data are stored in the Firefox profile folder and won't be affected by an uninstall and (re)install, but make sure that "remove personal data" is NOT selected when you uninstall Firefox.

If you keep having problems then also create a new profile.
