Cannot search or bring up a web site
I am using Firefox V 8.0. I cannot do a search. When I type in a word or phrase and press search (or enter), nothing happens. No activity whatsoever. When I click on the home page, nothing happens. If a tab already has a site on it, then that web site will come up, but nothing new can be brought up. Even by typing in the exact name of the website, nothing happens. I am using Explorer to send this to you. Note: I install AVG V 2012.0.1873 and Zone Alarm V 10.1.065.000 yesterday. Since I have rebooted, after installing these problems, Firefox has not worked properly. I would appreciate any help. I don't really want to uninstall AVG or Zone Alarm because of the protection they provide. I was using Norton, but my subscription expired.

A possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

Before I received your reply, I narrowed down the cause as Zone Alarm. I uninstalled it and re-installed it. Problem solved. Thank you for your response!
