My screen is very white, and saved bookmarks are all very faint and in white text at the top of the screen. Why is this?

Do you have a theme or persona installed? If you do try switching to the default theme. The using themes with Firefox article explains how to do that.
Yes, must have installed a theme recently and didn't realise! Have changed it all now and it looks fine. Many thanks for your help.
