‘Unable to reinstall Last Pass password manager extension. Get error message "Download failed. Please check your connection". Which connection? I can browse on the web. Advise!!’

Then you need to check with LastPass site to find what might be the problem installation issue here.

It isn't the add-ons site because I can install an extension (not a password manager).

Try right-clicking the button labelled "Add to Firefox" and then select "Save link as". That will enable you to save the extension file on your computer and you can install it then from the Add-ons and Themes page (ctl+shft+a). You do that by pressing the cog icon above the list of add-ons and selecting "Install add-on from file".

It is possible that security software (or a policy installed by such software) is preventing you from installing a password manager.
