Thunderbird CSV event export removed. Ical format doesn't work
I have always exported my calendar events in the CSV format to upload them to Google Calendar. That's gone. The Ical exported file is incompatible with Google Calendar. When attempting to import I just get a message reading:
"Imported 0 out of 0 events.
Unable to process your iCal/CSV file."
I'm using version 102.3.0.
Any help is appreciated. Restoring the CSV export function would be even more appreciated.

Why export from Thunderbird to import to Google? Why not just use the google calendar in Thunderbird? File > new > calendar then choose on the network and enter your gmail address. Thunderbird will find your calendars for you and set up sync on those you select. (you may have to go through an oauth authorization process, or you might not. It depends on your status with google really.
Thanks for that. Didn't even know that was a thing. I did it. Google calendar events now sync to TB, but TB events do not sync to Google calendar. I installed the Provider for Google Calendar add-on, but still only have one-way syncing. Do I need to re-do the add new calendar process to get it to work?
You now have two calendars in Thunderbird. So you need to add things to the right one so they sync. When you open the calendar tab, on the left below the month view calendar is your list of calendars. Each should have it's own colour.
Using the provider in this scenario wall only slow actions. It will not help at all.
I have also used the .CSV export function in order to do my billing. I need to export meetings to a spreadsheet to sort by client and date to confirm against my billing records. is there any way to convert the .htm or .ics export files to a CSV? Or do I have to revert to an earlier version of TB?
I rolled back to 91.9.1 to be able to continue using the "export calendar to CSV" feature...
6 months later: I thought it would be neat if someone know how to reintroduce the function maybe with a plugin...
But to free myself to upgrade Thunderbird, there are 2 options:
- Use Outlook for my calendar, and Thunderbird for email...
- Use Thunderbird and just export .ics and import that into outlook from where I can export again as CSV.
Both options require that Outlook is installed...
