Firefox does not work when accessing my ASUS router's management console

ASUS recently updated the firmware on my home router. Since then Firefox does not work when accessing my ASUS router's management console. By this I mean that I get a blank white screen after connecting to the router. How do I go about debugging this? I am guessing that the issue is caused by one of the add-ons that I have installed in Firefox, but I guess it could also be a setting I have made. In any event, I am looking for a quick methodology to figure out what is causing this incompatibility.

Solved my own problem.

The issue turned out to be hidden fields that LastPass was storing. So this is really a LastPass issue and not a Firefox issue but since I started this thread I might as well post the answer here in case someone else finds this via google.

The solution is to go to the "My LastPass Vault" page in Firefox (click on "My Vault" from the drop down menu). Then find the entry for the ASUS router, select it and click on the wrench icon to open the "Edit Password" page. Once you are on the Edit Password page click on the wrench icon again (near the bottom of the window) which will open an new page entitled "Edit Form Fields". Delete all the entries on this page then save. After this LastPass should start to working again for logging into your ASUS router.

This is a general fix for problems that you have when using LastPass to log in. I have used it on other pages that have misbehaved with LastPass. What was tricky about debugging this situation was that it was not at all clear to me that the issue was related to LastPass when it first occurred.

I just gave this a try again (I have not been using Firefox to access my router for the last six months due to this but). The situation is a bit more confusing than what I wrote above. When I use Firefox to access my ASUS router one of three things happens: 1) It works and I can login and access the router. 2) I get a blank white screen. 3) I get a screen with the message "Unable to connect".

One more important piece of info. This issue only occurs when I try to login to the ASUS router using HTTPS (no when connecting using HTTP). My goal is to always using HTTPS when connecting to my router. Of course because I am using HTTPS there was an issue with the certificate being wrong so I had to add an exception to allow me to connect the first time.

I have done some debugging on this by disabling various add-ons to see if I can fix the problem. And I found that when I disabled LastPass that the problem goes away. This is unfortunate because I use LastPass to store the credentials for this ASUS router console page. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
