Hi, I am unable to send emails using Mozilla Firefox v 78.7.0 with a Vodafone mobile WiFi 5A6F88.

I am able to receive without any problems.

I have changed the outgoing server settings to:

Server name: I have tried several suggested from help sites Port: 465 Connection Security: SSL/TLS Authentication Method: Normal Password User name: blank

Can anyone suggest what the settings should be to enable me to send emails please.

Contact your email service provider or visit their website for the correct settings.

User name: blank

What makes you believe you don't need to provide a user ID?

I am currently working from home. When I was in the office, a user ID was not required in the outgoing server settings to enable me to send emails so I assumed that this may be the same whilst working from home using the Vodafone Mobile WiFi.

Vodafone recommends smtp.vodafone.net.au on port 25, with connection security = none, authentication = no authentication. With those choices, the User Name is not needed and is greyed out in TB settings.

https://www.vodafone.com.au/support/device/email-setup

"When setting up the Vodafone outgoing mail service, make sure WiFi on your device is switched off. You’ll need to be connected to the Vodafone network for the settings to work.

You won't be able to send emails with our outgoing mail server while your phone is connected through WiFi to another internet provider. We recommend using your email provider’s outgoing mail if possible."

One option is to get a gmail or similar account, add the vodafone address as an allowed sender, then set the vodafone account to send through the (secure) gmail smtp in TB (or any other device).
