How can I disable the update nag message?

To be clear, I don't want to disable automatic updating using the mozilla maintenance service. I do want updates, and I do want those updates to happen automatically.

I am working in a highly restrictive corporate environment where almost all Firefox users have neither administrative privileges on their workstations nor permission from the IT department to install software, so it does them no good to see the "Firefox can't update to the latest version. Download a fresh copy of Firefox and we'll help you install it." popup. Users can't act on the message, and it's annoying.

The mozilla maintenance service gets around to it...eventually. In the mean time, I would like to disable that popup. Can this be done?

You should talk to your It department about allowing Firefox ESR on your machine. It's meant for enterprise environments and allows for better deployments
