I updated to 53.0b2(32bit). Now my paragraph is always double spaced. I tried unchecking the box in Tools/options/Composition/General, but it made no difference. The only format that is single spaced is "address", but it is stuck on Italic. Any ideas how I can change it back to single spacing?

Paragraph is always double spaced. Body Text is single spaced.

The default opened using 'Paragraph'. By deselecting 'Use paragraph format instead of Body Text by default' in Tools/options/Composition/General This should have reset the default to 'Body Text' instead of 'Paragraph' You can still select Paragraph but you will get double spacing.

If you had a 'Write' window already opened when the default was 'Paragraph' then this window was created with all the old settings, so close it and open a new Write window. It should then use correct default.

I note you are using version 53.0b2(32bit), so likely to be a beta version.

The lastest version is 52.1.0. Perhaps, you may prefer to uninstall the version you currently are using and install the latest release.
