cannot paste chinese characters into vb6 text box control, unreadable characters !
I used to copy chinese characters from firefox and paste into vb6 text box control. it seems the latest update make the paste become unreadable characters. I have also changed the windows 8.1 font system so I am not sure if this is firefox problem. I think firefox used to copy both ansi and unicode and paste correctly but now it is not that case. is it? Please contact me to fix the problem. thanks
for example, if I paste "隨 後 兩 三 日 天 氣 寒 冷" I can read the chinese characters before but now it becomes "? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ?" on the text box. I think this may be firefox problem because I found a update one day before as firefox 44.0.2 from 43.0.4 . ( There may be other fixes on windows 8.1 as there are security fixes)

Also, is there simple way to just roll back to 43.0.4? I would like to keep the settings so I don't need to redo all the customizations.
attached my firefox update history!

I installed the developer edition of firefox 45 and this fix the problem. This includes using ctrl-C and other autocopy addon. Still finding ways to share the same profile (settings and customizations) to the developer edition... Thanks
Used firefox autosync to restore the customization but find that some addon (autocopy) do not work on the developer edition. Have to install an old copy of firefox. Please release patch as early as possible this month. Thanks
Bug 1243507 is fixed for Firefox 45, so that might explain why the DE release works.
Note that is is not advised to share a profile among different Firefox versions. You can use Sync to sync data or copy files between profiles.
You can copy files like these to the Firefox profile folder to have access to that data.
- bookmarks and history: places.sqlite
- bookmark backups: JSON backups in the bookmarkbackups folder
- SQLite files like cookies.sqlite (cookies) and formhistory.sqlite (saved form data)
- logins.json and key3.db (decryption key) for Passwords saved in the Password Manager
- cert8.db and possibly cert_override.txt for (intermediate) certificates stored in the Certificate Manager
- persdict.dat for words you added to the spelling checker dictionary
- permissions.sqlite for Permissions and possibly content-prefs.sqlite for other Site Preferences
- sessionstore.js for open tabs and pinned tabs and tab groups
