Using the latest version of the Firefox for Android, zoom gestures (pinch and double tap) do not function on many major websites. Zoom gestures do work on these sites when I use the stock Android browser.

Sites where zoom gestures do NOT work include:

google.com

wikipedia.org

humblebundle.com

Sites where they do work:

reddit.com

cnn.com

I tried installing the "Always Zoom" add-on, but that did not seem to make any difference.

Phone: LG G3

OS: Android 4.4.2

Hello there,

I just run a quick test on my phone and the websites you mentioned are zooming in and out fine.

In order to fix the issue your having you would need to clear all browser cache and cookies: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/clear-your-browsing-history-and-other-personal-dat

Hello Machine Master,

Thank you for the reply. Unfortunately, clearing the browser cache and cookies did not fix the problem.

One additional piece of information I'd like to add - the problem only occurs on the mobile version of these sites. If I manually switch to the desktop version of Google or Wikipedia, then zooming works fine.

Since you are unable to reproduce the problem, I'd suspect it might only be an issue with certain phones or the LG software. I'd be interested to hear if others with this phone (and not running a custom ROM) have encountered this problem.
