I run Malwarebytes as a virus/spyware software on my computer, and recently I have been getting pop-ups from it telling me that certain IP addresses are trying to access my computer. They are 93.174.93.19 and 89.248.169.9. They are both linked to a server called Ecatel, based in the Netherlands. My virus software companies tell me that I need to contact you in an effort to find out how I can stop this or block this server. Ecatel has been linked to a huge amount of spam and virus websites. Can you please tell me how I can block these IP addresses from accessing my computer? Thank you very much,

Marc Perlman, USA

Sometimes a problem with Firefox may be a result of malware installed on your computer, that you may not be aware of.

You can try these free programs to scan for malware, which work with your existing antivirus software:

Microsoft Security Essentials is a good permanent antivirus for Windows 7/Vista/XP if you don't already have one.

Further information can be found in the Troubleshoot Firefox issues caused by malware article.
