I am using this browser from many years, but this time I have the worst experience with firefox.

I am using this browser from many years, but this time I have the worst experience with firefox. When I open a page it show the Pop Up block indicator at the top, that is a good thing, but now even it shows that option and still opening many windows at the back. There are so many windows that opens automatically. There are 12 or 13 windows that opens at the same time, then I have to close that windows which is now becoming pain for me. Not even that there are so many new tabs that open automatically while I am working or searching any thing on the firefox. I am using this browser for many years and I hope in your next update you will resolve this issue. Else I have to go with any other browser and have to stop refer this browser to others and those users using this browser may have to ask them to go with any other browser. But believe me I reaaaalllly do not want to go with any other option, as I like this browser. So, please fix this issue in your next update.

  • firefox menu New Fx Menu > help Help-29 > troubleshooting information,

copy the contents of that page and paste them here into a reply on the forum? this might give us a clue what is going on...

Try to rename (or delete) the mimeTypes.rdf file in the Firefox profile folder to reset all file actions.

You can use this button to go to the currently used Firefox profile folder:

  • Help > Troubleshooting Information > Profile Directory: Show Folder (Linux: Open Directory; Mac: Show in Finder)

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.

  • Switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance
  • Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window
