Touble with my Mozilla Thunderbird

I have had Mozilla Thunderbird as my e-mail program on my P.C. for several years. My wife noted yesterday morning that while receiving e-mails, she could not send any e-mails OUT. We are on line with Time Warner and I called their technical support this morning only to be told that every thing was alright on their end and it must be software problems with Mozilla, contact them. I tried sending you folks a message initially, but the screen said I needed an account to ask questions. I worked around your system and this is where I have gotten. Initially, you folks, during my attempts to log on, kept saying a new temporary password had been sent to my e-mail, but I have received NOTHING BACK from you. I am, however, receiving my regular e-mails at that address, minus, the problem I mentioned. We can not answer or send any e-mails out. My telephone number is ***. Any assistance to resolve this matter would be appreciated. If you can include a telephone number to respond back to you, it would help. Thanks.
