Firefox 24 for Linux with Latest flash Youtube videos error
I am trying to write a script which connects to a remote machine using x display and launches the firefox with youtube url.
Problem is that whenever i try to load youtube url in the firefox , i always get this black screen saying "an error occurred, please try again later".
Firefox version is 24 (for linux) Flash player version is 11.2.202.310
Following are the steps i have tried so far:
1- Launch firefox with a different url (e.g. dailymotion) and it works perfect 2- Used older flash plugin to play youtube videos (flash version 9). The videos are played but higher resolutions (480, 720, 1080) are not available then. 3- Disabled flash plugin then youtube videos are playing (because of html5, but i want to be able to play videos using flash) 4- Disabled hardware accelration in xorg conf file, from firefox preferences and flash player settings by right clicking, but still i get the same "an error occurred, please try again later" error. 5- Deletion of cache and cookies but no use.
Is it possible that the video codec which youtube sends to the browser are not supported by my opensuse installation (openSUSE 11.4 32 bit) ???
I want to able to play youtube videos some how..
Let me know if someone needs more information.

Here's what Ive noticed, you have "two" flash plugins, which means the plugin database needs to be manually refreshed.
See the link below for refreshing that database.
Thanx for your reply. I dont think that two flash plugins are installed at the same time (flash player 9 and flash player 11).
When i enter about:plugins in the address bar (while using flash version 11), then i see that only flash plugin 11 is shown as enabled. Same is the case with flash plugin 9. However i will investigate if pluginreg.dat is causing problems.
You can find the installation path of all plugins on the about:plugins page.
- http://kb.mozillazine.org/about:plugins

It is best not to have the plugin.expose_full_path pref set to true as this exposes the full path of plugins to servers on internet via the navigator.plugins object, so toggle this pref to false if it is currently set to true
