You may want to try one of these easy fixes if the RAM usage is really high or else you can just ignore those warnings. Memory Fixes

I am not an AVG user; I have tried their free product and uninstalled it soon after the initial installation. From reading on the internet, it appears that when there is a spike in memory usage, AVG "interprets" that as a memory leak, possibly caused by malware. AVG could be incorrect concerning that assumption. Maybe they are being a bit too conservative about memory usage; just my opinion.

The decision is yours to turn off the "advisor" or leave it on.

Once Firefox hits 1 hour of CPU time, you will certainly be able to tell something is impaired, by the time it hits 2 hours of CPU time and you're over 1GB of memory, you are pretty much locked down. The message serves me well as a reminder that if I am going to leave the room, it is a good time to restart Firefox using the "Restartless Restart" extension.

I often check how firefox.exe is doing in the "Processes" tab of the Windows Task Manager before I do, and I have noticed a big improvement just because I do restart Firefox often. I clear out all or most of the non app-tabs with the "Multiple Tab Handler" extension with "close tabs to the right" (of the active tab) -- invoked from the Tabs context menu. I've found that by catching this early things work a lot better.

Firefox 8.0.1 has a memory leak. If you start up Firefox in safe mode and point it to any website, no matter how simple, and then open the Resource Monitor, you can watch the memory requirement slowly increasing even though you're not doing anything, and after about an hour Firefox will require 3-500 megs of RAM and AVG will start complaining.

Presumably it will be fixed by a patch, but at present the only solution I've found is to shut down and restart Firefox.

the Advisor is just telling you the same thing you can see for yourself in the Task Manager; I can open firefox with only a few tabs and then watch the memory usage skyrocket when Firefox should be doing nothing - after a couple of hours it will get up to as high as 1.5GB before it completely hangs and I have to end the process in Task Manager, and this does this with all extensions disabled and in Safemode.
