Hi,

I have a custom site on my ISP's webspace that can be access via an https:// link. Firefox for Android (129.0.2) on my new phone (Samsung a35, Android 14) says that it's not secure, which means I frequently have to go though the not secure>advanced>accept risk process.

The problem is that this is literally the only browser instance I have that thinks it isn't secure. Chrome, on the same device, says it is, Firefox for Android thinks it is on two other devices. Firefox for Windows thinks it is. I can find no other browser on any device or platform that thinks there is any problem.

Any hep appreciated.

Hey Pete, If you have a website hosted somewhere and are getting this warning, it is likely that the site doesn't have a certificate, or the certificate it is using is not from a trusted provider. See MDN Web Docs for more info.

That's what I would have thought but it doesn't explain why Firefox for Android on my tablet and Firefox for Windows both say it's secure....

If it doesn't have a trusted certificate, Firefox will not trust the website because someone could be intercepting your connection and collecting sensitive information (like passwords).

Yes, I know.

However, if the site didn't have a trusted certificate, I wouldn't expect any browser on any platform to accept it. As it is, I have Firefox running on four devices (two Android and two Windows) and three of those say the site is secure (they trust the certificate), and that's not to mention other browsers (including Chrome on the same phone as the Firefox that has the problem) that also say the site is secure.
