Pages Won't Load After Opening Firefox

When opening the browser for the first time, my opened (saved) tabs begin to load and then pause as though my entire internet connection is lost. Some will time out, others will just sit there. If I try to go to a new website, I get a connection error that says I have no connection to the internet. This only happens in FF; my other programs are not effected by the drop in connection and the Windows connection manager shows that I'm live the whole time. The connection resumes and all goes back to normal between 20-60 seconds after the initial drop.

This only happens when opening the application for the first time after a reboot but doesn't matter if I just started Windows or wait 5 minutes to open FF. What is going on here? I've been using FF on this computer for 2 years with no issue like this. The issue has remained after a full format/wipe of the Windows 10 and clean slate install of FF.

I am very concerned about a proxy or some kind of man in the middle switch being flipped. It's the same pause in network access that I get when enabling a VPN service. As a note, I do not have a VPN installed at this time.

Any help or advice is welcomed, thank you.

How many tabs/windows are you trying to open?

Start Firefox using Troubleshoot(Safe) Mode {web link}

A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Troubleshoot(Safe) Mode (not Refresh). Is the problem still there?

Thanks for your help, it's appreciated.

I have windows I always keep open, one with 8 and the other ~11 pinned tabs. It's definitely not a bandwidth or memory issue either - this is a new problem. When the network "pause" occurs it gives me "Server Not Found" messages if I try to refresh any tabs or open new pages. What's so strange is that it works fine for the first 5-10 seconds then just has no connection for 30-60 seconds after that.

I tried Safe Mode and the problem did not appear to occur! Very exciting. So my though is that it's one of my extensions? What's odd though is that I haven't added any new ones for a long time, the current issue came about with the same extension that I've had for ages.

Any way I can show redacted logs from startup?

If the browser opens with many tabs/windows, this could cause a bottleneck.

It could be the work of one of your add-ons, or it could be Hardware Acceleration. How to disable Hardware Acceleration {web link}

Type about:addons<enter> in the address bar to open your Add-ons Manager. Hot key; <Control> (Mac=<Command>) <Shift> A)

In the Add-ons Manager, on the left, select Extensions. Disable a few add-ons, then Restart Firefox.

Some added toolbar and anti-virus add-ons are known to cause Firefox issues. Disable All Of them.

If the problem continues, disable some more (restarting FF). Continue until the problem is gone. After, you know what group is causing the issue. Re-enable the last group ONE AT A TIME (restarting FF) until the problem returns.

Once you think you found the problem, disable that and re-enable all the others, then restart again. Let us know who the suspect is, detective.

Dropped the ball on dealing with this but I've now come to realize that it's a bigger issue than just FF.

When I open FF for the first time after a fresh reboot, after about 10 seconds of normal operation (tabs opening/pages loading) it actually KILLS my internet connection for the entire machine. No signs of it happening in Network & Sharing but no other applications are able to connect to the internet for a period of 30-90 seconds.

Still using Windows 10 and fully updated Stable FF 95.0.2 (64-bit). I have tried disabling all plugins (Multi-Account Containers/UBlock/Cookie Auto Delete/Privacy Badger or a combination of all of them to no avail. The only that seemed to have worked was Safe Mode. What's really odd, as mentioned before, is that this happened before and after a recent clean install of Windows 10 but does NOT happen on my W10 laptop with FF fully synced.
