unable to navigate while downloading at high speed
Hi,
I don't understand what's wrong with the browser, I already signaled my disappointment as a feedback. As all reported, the browser is freezing sometime when I open a new tab (especially after an update). I have to restart at least 2 times the browser to make it works. This is not the big problem.
The pain point is that I cannot navigate while I am downloading a file at a high speed (120Mb/s). This is not due to my router or what ever in my computer but related to Firefox. While Firefox is downloading, I can use Edge without any issue.
I tried the same action in safe mode and I got the same problem.
Could you please tell me how to resolve this problem?
Is there a workaround if it's a bug?
Thank you.
Regards,
Lyamine

Hi, 120mb/s is pretty normal speed.
What extensions are your running please ? What Security Software ? When was the last time your video card Drivers where updated ?
So far not much info to go on .
How much ram ? What processor? How old is system ?
Hi Pkshadow,
Security Software: Trend Micro Internet Security, I switched off and same result. I don't think it's the antivirus as I can navigate on Edge. Extensions: there is only AdBlock Plus , I can reproduce the problem in Safe mode so without any extension. Trend Micros Toolbar but it's disabled, I never used it.
Video driver: 2018-03-27 --> 23.20.16.5018
The computer is completely new, 8GB of memory, Intel Core I5 8th generation. On Windows 10 Pro.
I already signaled my disappointment as a feedback
So where do you think the above went ? It does not come here, but to a team that looks at it, and if it is not worded properly explaining in detail and steps for improvement with constructive ideas, it is not going far. Submit Feedback is not a complaint department.

I don't have a server not found, the navigation is in pending for a response.
I disabled firewall same issue unfortunately
Hi, new should have got 16gig.
Please try this : uninstall Firefox. Then Delete the Mozilla Firefox Folders in C:\Program Files , C:\Program Files(x86) & C:\ProgramData Then restart system. Then run Windows Disk Cleanup. (Note: This should be Pinned and run Weekly, If never done below expect 10's of gig's) Then run it again and click the button that says Cleanup System Files. Note: your Firefox Profile is saved. But you should make a back up before you do :
- https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/export-firefox-bookmarks-to-backup-or-transfer
Reinstall with Current Release Firefox 61.0.2 with a Full Version Installer
Please let us know if this solved your issue or if need further assistance.

I know, I just gave my opinion that's all. Anyway it won't resolve my issue that's why I am here :)

Please click on the 1st link there as yes, I know you do not have a server
Sorry, didn't answer for the first link. I already tried that.
I am going to try to uninstall and reinstall everything but for me this is not a viable solution each time we have an issue :/
No idea what video card you got but if was a separate card then all video card get monthly updates for about 5yrs. Yours is probably 3 updates behind.

I have Intel UHD graphics 620. I don't know what's the relationship between graphical card and the download? It makes no sense lol

You say can not navigate, which means seeing which is video card if your sorta frozen there, tends to be ram, or video card drivers or lack of ram on the video card.
How is the uninstall/reinstall going ?

In progress, strangely Firefox in folder doesn’t have any permissions for administrators. It’s like the folder doesn’t inherits of program files folder permissions...

Yes I can’t navigate but the browser is not frozen. During the download, I open a tab, navigate and it’s constantly loading. When the download is done, the page is displayed. It’s like the query is in a fifo queue of request.
Not sure what your downloading but I tend to use things that like to go faster so you may want to look into these :
- https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/download-with-fdm/
Can also use the search from the URL and just need download as a search word.
Je folder ?
