Confirm security exception does not enable access to website - even though same website works with firefox on other workstation in the same network
Running FF 59 on Mac OS 10.13.3. Cannot access internal Connection to ESC Vsphere client Bitdefender says website is safe, colleague runs same Mac OS, same FF at the desk next to me.... connection works. Adding Security Exception does not work, always shows:
ops-vcsa70.ops.oce.net uses an invalid security certificate. The certificate is not trusted because the issuer certificate is unknown. The server might not be sending the appropriate intermediate certificates. An additional root certificate may need to be imported. Error code: SEC_ERROR_UNKNOWN_ISSUER
Connecting to the same server from my Windows Virtual Machine with FF 59 works. Just this instance of FF does not make the connection possible. Deleted FF, clean new install. Same issue

Separate Security Issue: Update your Flash Player Note: Windows users should download the ActiveX for Internet Explorer. and the plugin for Plugin-based browsers (like Firefox).

There is security software like Avast, Kaspersky, BitDefender and ESET that intercept secure connections and send their own certificate.

Tried basically all of above. Still no connection to the website. Safari on this workstation can make connection. Identical proxy config

Bitdefender Antivirus for Mac is up to date. Even with Mac Firewall off FF does not allow opening the page
Start your Computer in safe mode with network support. Then start Firefox. Try Safe websites. Is the problem still there?

To clarify the issue:
Firefox doesn't trust the certificate, you added an exception, but when you reload or revisit the page within the same tab, Firefox still objects to the certificate.
We're assuming it's the same certificate, but possibly:
(A) It's a different certificate, or (B) The exception wasn't really saved
Questions:
(1) If you view the certificate in the Add Exception dialog, who is listed in the "Issued by" section of the dialog? Is it your Bitdefender software, or a different intermediary?
(2) If you check the Certificate Manager, is your exception there or was it not really saved?
- Mac: "3-bar" menu button (or Firefox menu) > Preferences
- Linux: "3-bar" menu button (or Edit menu) > Preferences
- Windows: "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Options
- Any system: type or paste about:preferences into the address bar and press Enter/Return to load it
In the search box near the top of the page, type cert and Firefox should filter the list. Click "View Certificates" to open the Certificate Manager and click the "Servers" tab. Do you see your exception(s) there?
Hi, checking the issued sections gives "ops-vcsa70.ops.oce.net" ops and oce being our organisation.
Ha, this was the hint I needed. Thank you very much. The certificate was not in the list and adding it manually solves the issues. I can now connect to the website
