When I click on the FireFox icon or link in email I always get this page. Whats is happening? I also have endless hang up issues requiring me to unplug the cable wait a minute and 2 minustes later it will work again for 5 minutes before another error message. Im stuck with no idea where to start?

enjoy

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web link} by holding down the <Shift> (Mac=Options) key, and then starting Firefox.

A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Safe Mode (not Refresh). Is the problem still there?

Type about:config<enter> in the address bar. If a warning screen comes up, press the I Accept the Risk button. At the top of the screen is a search bar. Type browser.startup.homepage

What is the value? Right-click and select Reset to restore its default value; about:home

That is about Captive portal detection.

You can set this pref to false on the about:config page to disable this feature.

  • network.captive-portal-service.enabled = false

You can open the about:config page via the location/address bar. You can accept the warning and click "I accept the risk!" to continue.
