I recently upgraded firefox to 27.1 and it will not allow me to go log into my college website. It is also incredibly slow, what do I do?

I was previously able to log into humboldt.edu with the old version of fire fox, I finally upgraded because I was getting pestered with pop up windows saying I had to upgrade so I eventually gave in. Now, I am having to deal with scripts and manually having to block or unblock pages (which by the way is frustrating and I hate it, considering that I have no idea what I am doing) and I still cannot log into the one website that is vital in my life right now. I need this fixed now!

What is the block/unblock issue? Is this Firefox's setting that blocks "mixed active content" on secure sites? (Shield icon in the address bar; see Mixed content blocking in Firefox)

Some users with McAfee security software have reported a lot of new problems with the SiteAdvisor add-on. This thread has more information on that issue: How do I turn off McAfee SiteAdvisor ?

Regarding slowness, some users are experiencing problems with an update to the graphics rendering technology. This thread has an extensive (and admittedly confusing at times) discussion of what people have been trying: Firefox is unbearably slow after updating to version 27. If you try anything there, please keep notes on the results in case you need to backtrack or so we can suggest next steps if those things did not help.
