No access to Remember Password dialog box
Already been through the troubleshooting steps and nothing helps. No, I'm not private browsing (nothing to hide), and all the settings are correct.
Installed the latest version of FF on a brand new machine (Dell XPS17). I do not get a remember passwords dialog box when I go to my normal password required sites. I get the key icon to the left of the address bar. I can click on it all day long and every which way, but never get the password dialog box to pop up.
The machine came with McAfee installed, but I never activated it. The password problem existed from the moment I installed FF while McAfee was still on here. I have since uninstalled McAfee and installed a real virus scanner (AVG). There are no settings in AVG that suppress password saves and McAfee is gone. I even checked to see if the password problem in FF existed in between McAfee and AVG, and it did. So this has to be a problem somewhere between FF13 and Win7.
Any ideas?

Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
- Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.
Try to disable hardware acceleration.
- Tools > Options > Advanced > General > Browsing: "Use hardware acceleration when available"

Good info. Safe mode didn't do it, I don't use themes (already in default), but unchecking the hardware acceleration setting corrected the problem. The password box now pops up.
Thanks for the quick assist!!!
