Thanks for the reply; I filled out the 'simple form' with my details and re-started the computer but when I fill the forms I still have to do it manually as it doesn't work thru autofill. Can you suggest anything please.

Same problem. Everyone (sic) continues to supply this same advice, and (several of us) continue to respond by saying that it doesn't work (for us). I too have been told to do this (download the add-on) and have gone ahead and done it (several times) but it (i.e., the ?add-on?) doesn't appear anywhere on my taskbar or elsewhere. Why do people continue to give this guidance if it doesn't work?

Make sure that you do not run Firefox in permanent Private Browsing mode.

• Tools > Options > Privacy, choose the setting Firefox will: Use custom settings for history
• Deselect: [ ] "Always use private browsing mode"
• Select  : [X] "Remember search and form history"
