Upon closing Firefox 4, Adobe Acrobat Professional opens

Sometimes closing Firefox 4 causes Adobe Acrobat Professional to open (in its own program) and display an error message of "Cannot use Adobe Reader to view PDF in your web browser. Reader will now exit. Please exit your browser and try again." Is there a way to prevent this?

Hi to all,

I had Acrobat Reader 8 and Acrobat Pro installed. Uninstalling Acrobat Reader solved my problem on my Vista system. I don't get this message anymore and Acrobat doesn't seem to be trying to open when exiting Firefox 4

Hope this helps.

Hi,

I don't have Acrobat Reader installed, only Acrobat Pro version 6.0 on XP Pro SP2 and I get these problems like everyone else. I tried disabling the Acrobat plugin in Firefox and Javascript in Acrobat Pro but no luck. Anyone have another suggestion?

I am tired of this happening and no one can give a fix, so after using firefox for years, my only suggestion is go back to ie.
